Dear friends and guests

We are delighted to confirm that we continue to welcome all guests as usual and we look forward to having you stay with us. In compliance with the most recent Government guidelines, we will request a copy of your EU Covid Certificate or Proof of Immunity on arrival at the hotel. Those attending a wedding are currently exempt from this requirement but should you be a resident with a wedding, you will be asked to present your cert at breakfast or other meals outside the wedding day.

 There will be a maximum of 6 adults (or 15 persons when including children age 12 and under) per table. Multiple table bookings are not allowed. Please remember to wear your mask at all times when not seated at your table. The bar must be fully vacated by 12 midnight.

Dear friends,

I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2021.

We will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, closing Sunday afternoons in December.

The Herbert restaurant and Cellar Bar will be open for non-residents wishing to dine with us, pre-booking essential. 

We can welcome guests from all around the country until January 6th.

For Christmas, we are closed from 20th to 26th of December and reopen from the 27th December to the 10th January 2021.

 

Our team are working hard to get everything ready to welcome you back in line with all safety protocols and we look forward to seeing you soon.

The entrance to the hotel is framed by a tunnel of greenery which unfurls to reveal the beauty of this imposing manor house, constructed in 1877 and formerly home to the Herbert Family.

The newest addition to our room collection is in our fully restored Coach House, adjacent to the Manor House. Every room has been designed to pay homage to the native Kerry flora and fauna and inspired by the beautiful nature that surrounds us. Located in the basement of the hotel you’ll find ‘The Cellar Bar’. Previously the original wine cellar of Cahernane House, it has been renovated into a stylish and welcoming space for you to enjoy an extensive selection of beers, spirits, wines and cocktails.

Our History

If these walls could talk

Cahernane House was built as the family residence of Henry Herbert in 1877 at a cost of £5,992. The work was carried out by Collen Brothers Contractors. The original plans by architect James Franklin Fuller, whose portfolio included Ballyseedy Castle, Dromquinna Manor and the Parknasilla Hotel, was for a mansion three times the present size.
