Ring of Kerry Drive

The ring of Kerry drive should be on every visitors Kerry bucket list and we promise the views you’ll take in long the way will stay with you long after you’ve returned home. It’s a 120km loop that takes drivers around the Inveragh Peninsula, with much of the driving along the coastline. In one day you can enjoy miles of rolling green hills and fields, discover colourful Irish towns and witness some of the most fantastic coastal views in the country. Make time to stop in beautiful Portmagee, stop to take pictures of Skellig’s (scenery that was used in Star Wars movies), and take a short stroll along the Cliffs of Kerry. Our team will be happy to help you plan a route once you get here.

Cycle in Killarney National Park

One of the most popular pastimes among guests of our hotel in Killarney is to cycle in the nearby Killarney National Park. Cycle to the entrance of Muckross House and Gardens and follow the road to Muckross & Dinis, a 10km loop from the house. On the way you will pass Bricin Bridge where the Lower Lake meets the Middle of Muckross Lake. Continue on the Dinis Cottage and find the Meeting of the Waters where the 3 lakes meet – Upper Lake, Middle (Muckross) Lake and Lower Lake. You can also walk to the Old Weir bridge which, weather dependant, can be a beautiful postcard worthy shot. If you don’t fancy the cycle back, you and your bike can take a small motorboat back from Dinis to Muckross Boat house. Just ask for John or Gerry and they will take care of you.

Take a picnic with you so you don’t have to stop and refuel. Speak to our staff and we can put something together for you before you leave.

Explore the Dingle Peninsula.

The Dingle Peninsula stretches almost 50 kilometres into the Atlantic Ocean on the south-west coast on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The magnificent coastline consists of steep sea-cliffs such as Slea Head with the award-winning beach at Inch in the south and the Maharees to the north. The route will take you from the Dingle Peninsula to Inch Beach to the town of Dingle, past Slea Head and Conor Pass, taking in some of the most magnificent scenery you could hope for. Inch Beach is a 5km long sand spit overlooking magnificent Iveragh and Dingle Peninsulas where many families spend summer days and sometimes movies are shot. Afterwards, a stroll through Dingle Town is an absolute must, stopping for some Murphys Ice-Cream or a spot of lunch with some fish and chips, fresh off the trawlers.
