Beautifully situated on a private estate on the edge of Killarney National Park, this boutique four-star hotel is located just twenty minutes' walk from Killarney town centre. The entrance to the hotel is framed by a tunnel of greenery which unfurls to reveal the beauty of this imposing manor house, constructed in 1877 and formerly home to the Herbert Family. Cahernane House Hotel exudes a sense of relaxation and peacefulness where guests can retreat from the hectic pace of life into a cocoon of calmness and serenity. The only sounds you may hear are the cows bellowing, the lambs bleating or the birds singing.

The hotel offers 48 spacious guest rooms; 12 of which are located in the original house. These rooms boast many of the original features including wooden ceiling beams, cornicing and fireplaces. Each room is decorated in a unique style, relevant to the original period.
There are 28 spacious deluxe rooms available in the garden wing of the hotel many of which feature French doors onto either a ground floor patio or a first-floor balcony, commanding stunning views over the local landscape.
The newest addition to our room collection are in our fully restored Coach House, adjacent the Manor House. Each of these 8 bedrooms are bespoke with feature wallpapers, luxurious fabrics and original Irish antique furniture. Some of the bathrooms have free-standing claw foot baths while others feature walk in rain showers and handmade tiles.The décor of each of the 8 rooms have been inspired by nature and pay homage to the native Kerry flora and fauna.
The dining experience at The Herbert Restaurant is one to savour. Recently awarded 2AA Rosettes, the dining room epitomises the style and grandeur of the original house with beautiful views over the gardens and mountains beyond. Our Head Chef Eric Kavanagh has created an extensive menu of delicious, locally sourced seasonal produce. Bookings can be made online and it is advisable to reserve a table in advance.
Located in the basement of the hotel, The Cellar occupies the original wine cellar of the house. Recently renovated into a stylish and welcoming space we have an extensive selection of beers, spirits, wines and cocktails for you to enjoy. Try our signature cocktail 'The Herbert'a smooth combination of gin, spiced rum, elderflower and fresh lime juice! We also offer gin and whiskey tastings.
We are open daily between 1 pm and 9.30 pm serving delicious dishes from our bar food menu. Great service and a relaxed ambience make the The Cellar an ideal choice for lunch, dinner or a just quiet drink.
